Adult ADHD Assessment

An ADHD evaluation begins with a thorough clinical interview and careful review of your developmental history, including patterns of attention, behavior, learning, and functioning from childhood through adulthood. We’ll look at how concerns such as distractibility, focus, motivation, task initiation, organization, time management, working memory, and executive functioning have affected different areas of your life.

When appropriate, standardized questionnaires and cognitive testing may be used to provide additional information about attention, executive functioning, and related cognitive abilities. I consider these findings alongside your history and current concerns to determine whether ADHD may help explain your experiences, consider other conditions with overlapping symptoms, and understand how any existing diagnoses may be affecting your functioning. The evaluation is also used to develop practical recommendations for treatment, strategies, and accommodations.
